Luciana Paoluzzi was born in Rome and raised with her family. Her father was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian military officer. Maria Rota Paoluzzi was one of the mistresses of Benito Mussolini. Her siblings are unknown. Luciana attended a local school before matriculating at the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of the only women in her class. Luciana began as fashion models after only two years. Her career changed soon afterward, as by chance she landed her first role in Three Coins in the Fountain. Luciana was given the custody of Charles who was born on June 13, 1961. The couple divorced one year later. Luciana was in a relationship with Tony Athony between 1962 and the year 1970. Tony is a producer and actor who was influenced by her character to write and direct the Spaghetti Western hybrid based on her role in the movie Green Slime.
